With changing leaves and a chilly breeze, fall has officially rolled in so SECS is celebrating with an awesome overnight camping trip to Kickapoo State Park! We'll be meeting at the University YMCA at 5pm on Friday and leaving from there together. The park is about 30 miles away, so the drive is estimated to be about 45 minutes away. If you're interested in biking there, email Peter for more information! We're expecting to leave Kickapoo by 2pm on Saturday afternoon, but if you will be arriving later or need to leave earlier, email Lauren with your conflicts!
We won't be serving dinner on Friday night, so make sure you eat before we leave. We will have tons of snacks and smores fixing's so be sure to be ready for sugar comas and bonfires! On Saturday, we'll be serving breakfast and lunch and going on a hike through the state park. Remember to dress warmly and bring good hiking shoes, along with any other supplies you might need like a fully charged cell phone and camera.
We ask that you please bring these supplies on your own:
- water bottle/thermos
- sleeping bag/pillow
- flashlight
- plate/utensils (try to bring reusable stuff! we're avoiding disposable supplies)
- extra food/drinks for yourself
- cash (we'll let you know how much once we grocery shop)
- tents
- food (for breakfast/lunch) and snacks
- first aid
- hammer (for tents)
- garbage bags
- paper towels
- hand sanitizer
- playing cards and Apples to Apples
We hope to see a lot of people there! This weekend should have great weather and there's no better way to enjoy the crisp, autumn air than sleeping outside in a tent under the stars. Remember, please please fill out this survey by 6:30pm on Wednesday, October 9 before our general meeting so we can have a good idea of how many people are attending/driving/biking. Thanks!
