While the University deserves commendation for its commitment to end its support of dirty energy on campus, it continues to invest in the energy source.
If we’re going to bring about the end of an energy source whose emissions kill 17,057 individuals and cause asthma attacks for 281,242 more in the U.S. alone, we need to end our financial support.
Join us at the Alma Mater at 12pm, December 7th as we show the University Administration the support this movement has and ask them to support our resolution to end investments in coal.
The rally will feature speakers on the coal divestment movement, those who have been effected directly by the dirty energy source, and how we can draw from the Divest Apartheid movement -- as coal is as much a human rights issue as it is an environmental issue.
