Bike Fix-It Days with Bike Face

This past Wednesday and Thursday, SECS partnered up with our friends from Bike Face, formerly known as the Campus Bike Project RSO, to host this year's first bike fix-it days on the quad where spring tune-ups were dished out to anyone in need. Passersby were able to have their chains oiled, brakes adjusted, tubes patched, and tires pumped for the very reasonable price of a suggested donation while further part replacements were performed for the discounted cost of the parts being swapped. All together, the two days grossed $322 and after splitting the money with Bike Face and paying off expenses, SECS raked in $132 to keep for ourselves!

Most importantly though, all involved had a great time and were able to create some useful visibility for our two organizations. In fact, it was such a success that SECS fundraising chair Peter Whitney says another batch of fix-it days will be coming soon! That means that if you or your friends couldn't make these two days, then no worries because you haven't missed your only chance to have your bike fixed by the coolest clubs around.
